I couldn’t get tickets at a sane price for anything the Taiwanese in-laws might like, like the Nutcracker or Les Mis, so I took a massive gamble on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Shaw Theatre next to the British Library. It was lovely! It was extremely low rent with an ex-Eastender, a Gladiator, a Casualty and an “impressionist” with no credentials at all. In the end, it didn’t matter. Clown guy got the sold-out audience working hard, the wicked witch was roundly booed and there were lots of gags against neighbouring boroughs. Camden pride! The in-laws approved.
