OK, so the tour has been cancelled. Where to go instead? Bangkok? Tokyo? The East of Taiwan?

Anyhow, onwards:

• A clear article on why this years earthquakes are no worse than usual. Just stop urbanising prone areas. Yeah, you heard me Los Angeles.
• A very clear explanation how the banking crisis was worse than stupidity, it was fraudulent. I was working on the IT side of risk management when this lot went down, in a very staid old school bank. The quants were screaming at the management that the numbers were bad but weren’t listened to. Yes, you were robbed.
• Johann Hari on how heaven is a recent construct and a reflection of the times. There is no afterlife. Make the most of now.
• Excellent use of the BBC: proving brain training games don’t work.
• Madonna fills her central heating with magic water.
• Rush Limbaugh reckons all the earthquakes we’ve been having are god getting restive over US health care reform. That really socks it to the Haitians, Chileans and the Chinese.
• A Murdoch-biased YouGov poll.
• Librarian’s sex survey from 1992. You know you want to.
• Kick-Ass was awesome and Hit Girl totally ruled. ’nuff said.
• Coolest wasp EVAR. We need more of these.
